The Strike Zone Welcomes Ed Lucas!!! OMAHA ROYALS
|
|
The Strike Zone is please to announce the addition of Ed
Lucas to our coaching staff. Ed grew up in Deltona, Florida
and graduated from Spruce Creek High School. At Dartmouth
College he was named 3-time First Team All-Ivy League, the
2004 Ivy League Player of the Year, and Watson Award winner as
the Most Outstanding Male Athlete at Dartmouth. Drafted in the
8th round of the MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals, he has
spent 6 years in the KC system, including the last 3 years as
a member of the Omaha Royals.
Ed spent some time on the
disabled list this year with a slight injury. "I don't
want to say it was beneficial that I wasn't playing, but in
fact that I wasn't playing gave me alot of time to work in the
(batting) cage. So when I did get back to playing in the
games, I was comfortable with the adjustments that I made and
enjoyed great success!" He has now emerged as one of the
team's best hitters.
"I've been coaching, giving lessons,
and participating in clinics across the country since 2002. I
believe that quality instruction includes not only the
formation of solid fundamental baseball skills and technique,
but also the building of confidence that comes with positive
reinforcement and encouragement. I'm dedicated to helping the
youth of Omaha maximize their talents and enjoy the game the
way it's supposed to be played by relaying what I've learned
over my years in professional baseball."
Ed will be running a special from now until October 31, 2010
on one hour and half hour private instruction for all level of
players. Ed not only specializes in hitting but in infield and
outfield play.
Make the most of this opportunity and come in and have a
lesson with Ed. Call the Strike Zone to set up your lesson at
(402) 398-1238 ext. 5.
